Wild Sheep !

I created a short video about my American Black Belly (Barbados) Sheep. These are "hair" sheep and do not need to be sheared. They are heat tolerant in the summer and are quite goat like since they eat just about anything. I have them for fire management (keep the fire fuel under control) but people do eat them since they can be eaten at any age unlike commerical sheep that are consumed under 6 months of age.

We are expecting Lambs to start arriving in March 2021. If you are in California and are looking for sheep to naturally manage your property, let us know. The lambs will be sold. The Ewes are very hard to find in this region and are more expensive than the rams. They are super smart, know their names and are very friendly if they figure out you have treats for them. They especially like carrots.
