Jalaal on toes

Cielo came down with his second round of Laminitis in May 2019 - it was so bad I worried he wouldn't make it. He is rotated and sinking in both front feet but we stopped it before it became life threatening. He is back exercising now and his feet are growing the damaged material down. Eventually the damaged material will be replaced by new growth. He might be okay for light bareback riding around the farm but no more trail rides in the mountains.

Jalaal got Laminitis in June. He had been out of work since our first show in Feburary due to a shoulder issue which in hindsight might have been an indication that something was wrong on his feet. He has extreme bug allergies and he got a sheath infection along with his bug issue and once he was taken off his Dexamethozone he came down with laminitis. He was a big fat at the time which probably contributed to the condition appearing.

He has lost the fat, had had shoes put back on to set his toes back and has been sound. I am hopeful he can come back under saddle in October or November. Fingers crossed he can resume showing in Dressage but probably just 1st level since I'm not sure his conformation can tolerate the collection required in 2nd level. Time will tell. He definately wants to work again.
